Buddy Fruits, Crayola Head Back to School
Fruit pouch snack manufacturer Buddy Fruits has teamed up exclusively with Crayola to help families get ready for the upcoming school year.
The multifaceted back-to-school campaign includes Crayola-inspired coloring templates available on the Buddy Fruits website, which will allow kids to express their creativity for a chance to win weekly prizes, and then share the finished product on social media using the hashtag #B2SWITHBUDDY; a sweepstakes that participants can enter to win a year’s worth of back-to-school classroom supplies; and dump bins with Buddy Fruits products available in the produce sections of most supermarkets nationwide.
“Our biggest time of the year is back to school, since our convenient Buddy Fruits pouches are perfect for lunchboxes and backpacks," Scott Allshouse, CEO of Miami-based Buddy Fruits, told Progressive Grocer, characterizing his company’s wooden display racks and the Crayola display bins as “our best merchandising vehicles.”
“With Crayola and Buddy Fruits, moms have the perfect fruit snack to complete the lunchbox, and the preferred brand for school supplies,” added Buddy Fruits Marketing VP Juan Diego Henao. “The 2017-18 back-to-school campaign inspires kids to express themselves through coloring while making essential school supplies more accessible.”
Buddy Fruits is also offering new 4.1-ounce pouches containing one full serving of fruit. The pouches will be available at select school lunchrooms in Delaware, Florida, Virginia, Maryland, and Texas.
“Schools across the nation are faced with the challenge of supplying students with healthy snacks that are convenient to serve,” noted Allshouse. “We’re offering schools the optimal solution to help kids eat more fruit. Additionally, schools are saving time on preparation and money from food that gets thrown away.”
Among the product line’s flavors are Strawberry, Blueberry, Banana and Mango.
