Buddig Gets Charitable with Chicago Pantry

Meat processor Carl Buddig and Co., Homewood, Ill., has launched the nationwide #ShareALunch social campaign in conjunction with Hunger Action Month, donating one lunch to someone in need each time a consumer shares a photo of her Buddig lunch with the campaign hashtag via social media.

Buddig is partnering with the Greater Chicago Food Depository to donate 2-ounce Buddig Original Turkey Pouches for every #ShareALunch social post, plus $5,000 worth of the turkey pouches. The company also got involved on a personal level: Its operating family participated in an Aug. 24 volunteer day at the depository.

Additionally, on Sept. 21 and 22, Buddig employees will participate in an Employee Volunteer Repack Day to repack bulk products to individual and family-sized portions, assemble boxes, and label and sort products. Every Friday, the company participates in $5 Friday Jeans Days, and in October, all September funds raised will be donated to the depository.
