Brookshire's Invests in Local Products

Brookshire's Food Stores has launched a new initiative in an effort to support local businesses by purchasing products from states within the grocer's operating area that are locally grown, made and distributed.

Products that meet this criteria are identified by shelf tags, displays and signs throughout the grocer's stores.

“By purchasing products from within our own communities and the three states where we do business, we are providing products from people we know and trust and supporting local economies. Also, products bought closest to home are the most sustainable," said CEO Rick Rayford.

“We strive to provide top quality products for our customers, and by seeking out local products we can achieve this goal.  We will continue to build our local products categories in the future," he said.

Tyler, Texas-based Brookshire Grocery Co. operates 151 stores in Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas, along with three distribution centers and five manufacturing facilities.
