Brookshire Grocery Co. (BGC), along with city officials, celebrated the opening of four new Super 1 Foods stores in Pine Bluff, Ark.
Previously Brookshire’s Food Stores, the locations began their conversion to the Super 1 banner earlier this year, now making a total of 38 stores under the banner in Arkansas, Louisiana and Texas. District Manager Mark Simmons said that just like Brookshire’s, Super 1 Foods offers great people, products, stores, service and value.
“You’ll recognize the friendly faces of our people who are there to help you in our bakery, deli, meat and produce departments and throughout these stores,” he stated. “And when you’re ready to check out, we have carousel bagging at the registers where we bag everything for you. … If you need help lifting anything or getting groceries to your car, we’re more than happy to help with that, too.”
Particularly noteworthy to Brookshire patrons at the storefront is the long “Wall of Values” with super savings and hot deals on popular national- and store-brand items. In addition, in-store “Super Shockers” – limited-availability low-priced items – along with “Treasure Buys,” “Dollar Stretchers” and large bonus packs help feed families for less.
In the market department, customers will find meat that’s cut and ground fresh daily, along with monster combo packs, super packs, fresh-cut pork for less and Angus beef. The produce department is full of locally grown produce; the full-service deli has grab-and- go meals; and the bakery offers fresh-baked breads, pastries, cookies and cakes that can be custom-decorated.
Super 1 Foods is able to offer inexpensive prices because it purchases by the truckload directly from distributors, passing the savings on to customers. Private brands, too, help provide high quality at low prices – as high as 40 percent off in the case of the ValuTime brand.
Additionally, patrons can take advantage of free antibiotics, generics for less, lower-priced TopCare private brand products and fast, friendly service every day at Super 1 Foods’ discount pharmacies.
Tyler, Texas-based Brookshire Grocery Co. operates 177 stores in three states – Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas – and three distribution centers.
