Brookshire Grocery Co. Manufacturing Earns National Awards

Brookshire Grocery Co.’s manufacturing division received the “Member of the Year Award” at the recent 58th All Star Association Convention in St. Petersburg, Fla.

The All Star Association, which currently has 298 member companies, presents the award to the member company that has set itself apart in areas of product quality, service, advertising, innovation, and community service. BGC Manufacturing has been a member of All Star since 1992, and is the only member to have received the award twice.

In commendation for BGC manufacturing prowess with dairy, ice cream, culture, bakery, ice and beverages produced in its various plants, All Star Association also presented the Tyler, Texas-based regional retailer with the “Best Sour Cream Award” and “Exceeds Industry Standards” for its milk and ice cream.

"We are honored to receive this coveted award for a second time,” said Mike Giles, BGC's VP of manufacturing. “The All Star Association allows our independent manufacturing plants to stay competitive with many other great dairy and food plants. As a member-company, we are also able to maintain our high standards for quality with the outstanding programs All Star has in place.”

Noting BGC's continued growth, Jeff Sterne, All Star executive director, further praised the company for being "highly respected both in their local communities and within the industry. Additionally, they are a true innovator in the area of new products, product safety and process innovation."

BGC Manufacturing products can be found in all Brookshire’s, Super 1 Foods and FRESH by Brookshire’s stores.

Brookshire Grocery Co. operates 152 stores in three states -- Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas -- with three distribution centers and five manufacturing facilities.
