Biggs' Skytop Store Spruced Up
CINCINNATI -- Officials from Biggs cut the ribbon on a newly reformatted Skytop Pavilion store on Beechmont Ave. here. With extended selections, an emphasis on organics and prepared foods, and a new name -- Bigg's Fresh -- the store follows the remodeled format of its sister store at Hyde Park Plaza that opened last May.
Cincy's new Bigg's Fresh features more than 2,600 varieties of wine, an expanded produce section with more than 150 organic varieties, over 280 cheeses and a large selection of prepared foods.
The store also will feature Bigg's self-serve deli kiosks and the Pay-By-Touch system of checking out.
Bigg's, a wholly owned subsidiary of Minneapolis-based Supervalu, operates 13 locations in Cincinnati and Indiana. The chain employs about 2,000 people and controlled 7.7 percent of the Cincinnati market in the first half of 2005, according to Trade Dimensions.
