Bi-Lo Updates 22 Stores in 2011

Over the past year, Bi-Lo has rolled out 22 renovated stores across its four state Southeast footprint. During the month of November alone, the grocery chain refreshed a total of five stores: one in Statesboro, Ga.; two in Augusta, Ga.; and one each in Greenville and Seneca, S.C., and Franklin, N.C. The revamped stores feature new store designs and layouts with a warmer, richer color palette and modern decor, in addition to new offerings focused on quality and savings, and upgraded departments.

“Bi-Lo believes in offering our customers the highest possible standards, and this redesign program speaks directly to that,” explained the company’s president and CEO, Mike Byars. “We continually promise to offer our customers in Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina and Tennessee the lowest prices, the freshest products and the best customer service. We’ve been able to deliver on that promise and give customers a vibrant and modern atmosphere in which to shop."

Among the new offerings and amenities in the renovated stores are Bi-Lo’s Gold Star line of meat, including locally raised chicken, tender pork, and Certified Angus Beef; a wide variety of seafood, including the exclusive Chef’s Catch and Lakehouse Catfish lines; an open-market-style produce department with Bi-Lo’s triple-inspected Walter’s Produce; Lip Lickin’ Fried Chicken, fresh-sliced Sara Lee meats and cheeses, Signature Deli Pizza, Sweet Dreams Custom Cakes and Gourmet Cookies, and fresh artisan breads, muffins, pastries and doughnuts, and free Wi-Fi cafés with coffee available; as well as full-service pharmacies in some locations.

Mauldin, S.C.-based Bi-Lo operates 207 supermarkets in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Tennessee, employing about 16,995 people.
