Bi-Lo LLC to Install Price and Item Management Software

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Bi-Lo, LLC, said it plans to install software that will enable it to automate much of its pricing processes chainwide.

The grocer, which operates more than 300 stores in Georgia, North and South Carolina, Alabama, Florida, and Tennessee under the Bi-Lo, Bruno's, and Food World banners, is deploying Akron, Ohio-based SofTechnics' SoftGrocer and ChainTrack.HQ price and item management software.

"We believe that SoftGrocer is the architectural solution that allows us to replace our legacy receiving and price management systems," said Carol deWitt, v.p., information services and technology, c.i.o. "[It will] also lay the groundwork to systematically address current and future supply chain concerns."

SofTechnics' ChainTrack.HQ is an enterprise level system that features rules-based pricing, support for electronic marketing, DSD Receiving, computer-assisted ordering, and item price information for POS, scales, and shelf labels systems. It also offers an advertising planner, invoice auditing, and a data repository used for category management activities.

Bi-Lo operates more than 300 supermarkets in the Southeast and employs approximately 26,000 associates.
