BI-LO Fires Up Participation for Certified Angus Beef Grilling Competition
The Super BI-LO on Pelham Road in Greenville, S.C. was the site of the second annual BI-LO Certified Angus Beef Backyard Grill-Off. Ten "grill masters" competed in the event after being chosen in a random drawing. Tina and Sam Sims of Simpsonville, S.C. won the first place trophy, a gas grill valued at $1,000 and $500 in BI-LO Certified Angus Beef Gift Cards.
Contestants brought their own grills to the event and BI-LO provided each with a whole boneless certified Angus beef rib eye steak. Judges graded contestants on overall presentation, juiciness, tenderness and flavor of their steaks. Winning recipes are featured on BI-LO's web site.
Second place winner Michael Kilby from Easley, S.C. won a gas grill valued at $500, $300 in BI-LO Certified Angus Beef gift cards plus a trophy. Third place winner Paul Myers from Powdersville, S.C. won a gas grill valued at $300, $100 in BI-LO Angus gift cards plus a trophy.
