Beech-Nut Aids U.S. Storm Victims
To help the youngest survivors of last month’s devastating series of tornadoes in the southeast United States, Beech-Nut Nutrition Corp. made a $750,000 product donation equating to 15 truckloads of baby and toddler food. The donation will become part of ongoing relief efforts of Beech-Nut’s longtime charitable partner, Feed the Children, in the affected region.
For almost 20 years, the iconic baby food brand has backed the humanitarian and hunger-relief activities of Feed the Children. This recent donation will allow the Oklahoma City, Okla.-based nonprofit organization to provide immediate and continuing aid to the storm victims.
“Baby food is always at the top of the list of critical needs in times of disaster and this generous donation by Beech-Nut displays their commitment to the most vulnerable victims of these tragedies,” said Feed The Children spokesman Tony Sellars. “We … hope their example will inspire others to help during this time of need.”
This summer, Amsterdam, N.Y.-based Beech-Nut will roll out a nationwide philanthropic program to further benefit Feed The Children. Beech-Nut is a subsidiary of Hero AG of Lenzburg, Switzerland, a worldwide leader in consumer goods and infant feeding.
