Associated Grocers Names Steve Numata CFO

SEATTLE - Supermarket wholesaler Associated Grocers, Inc. (AG) yesterday named Steve Numata c.f.o., reporting to John Runyan, president and c.e.o.

Numata, who has more than 30 years of executive experience in public and private accounting, assumes the role of c.f.o. from Ned Dunn who served as c.f.o. since August 2006. Dunn will continue in his role as an AG board member and chairman of the audit committee.

Most recently, Numata was e.v.p. and c.f.o., and a member of the board of directors of SECOR International, a privately held investment and consulting engineering firm. Prior to SECOR, he was c.f.o. of Icicle Seafoods, Inc. an international fishing and seafood processing company based in Seattle.

Numata's public accounting resume includes three years as a partner with BDO Seidman, LLP a national professional services firm providing financial advisory and consulting services to a wide range of publicly traded and privately held companies, where he specialized in assisting startup and emerging growth companies. He launched his accounting career with Deloitte & Touche, LLP, where he worked for 10 years after completing his college degree.

Associated Grocers provides food, general merchandise, and retail services to stores throughout Washington, Oregon, Alaska, Hawaii, Guam, and the Pacific Rim. It procures and distributes perishable and nonperishable commodities to more than 320 food retail stores.
