Another HEB Plus Coming to San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO -- H.E. Butt Grocery Co. is reportedly making plans to build another unit of its new nonfood-heavy concept in its hometown. The new HEB Plus will be located in San Antonio's fast-growing North Side, and construction is slated to begin next year.

HEB is relocating its current store at 20760 N. Hwy. 281 and Evans to the new location, in a new retail project called the Stone Ridge Shopping Center, according to a report in the San Antonio Business Journal. The new HEB Plus is expected to be 150,000 square feet.

HEB opened its first Plus store this past October on San Antonio's South Side. The retailer operates five of the Plus stores, with plans to open another one this November at Loop 1604 and Potranco Road in Northwest San Antonio. That location will include HEB’s new Texas Backyard section, which consists of a selection of plants and other outdoor items.

HEB Plus is a mammoth grocery store carrying a wide selection of general merchandise and electronics items.
