Allegiance Names VP/CFO

Allegiance Retail Services LLC has appointed Eugene Fradella its VP and CFO. In his new role, Fradella (left) will oversee all financial, accounting and information technology functions for the Iselin, N.J.-based company.

A supermarket industry veteran with more than 35 years of experience, Fradella began his career with Keasbey, N.J.-based retail cooperative Wakefern Food Corp./ShopRite, where he held a variety of accounting positions over a quarter-century. In 2003, he joined New York-based Metro Drugs as controller, and in 2006, he became controller for the Drug Fair Group, in Somerset, N.J. In 2009, Fradella joined New York-based Gristedes as director of finance.

His most recent position was controller at Brown’s Super Stores Inc., a Westville, N.J.-based operator of 11 Philadelphia-area ShopRite supermarkets, many of them in underserved communities.

“Gene’s vast knowledge of both wholesale and retail accounting systems will go a long way towards enhancing the services we provide to our membership,” said Michael Stolarz, president and COO at Allegiance, which provides its independent grocer members with marketing, advertising, technological and merchandising support, in addition to a full line of Foodtown private label products.
