Albertsons LLC Merges Acquired Websites
Albertsons LLC this week is merging its online platforms for its website and social media accounts with those of the former Supervalu-owned Albertsons to give users a single online experience.
This past March, Albertson’s LLC purchased all of the remaining Albertsons grocery stores in Calif., Idaho, Mont., N.D., Nev., Ore., Wyo. and Utah that were formerly owned by Supervalu. Since that time, the grocer has operated two websites, two Facebook pages and two of most of the other popular social media platforms.
This week, everything will be merged into a single “Albertsons” online presence, including mobile apps.
"This is a very complex transition that involves aggregating site content and blog posts, setting up new feeds for ad digitization, merging store data, validating email information and more,” Karl Meinhardt, VP of digital and social media for Albertsons told Progressive Grocer. “Virtually no channel of our digital reach has gone untouched."
Here are the highlights:
- Tuesday, June 18th: AlbertsonsMarket.com will become Albertsons.com. The new Albertsons mobile app will launch and be available on the iTunes and Google Play platforms.
- Wednesday, June 19th: Shoppers that signed up at one of the two previous websites will receive the new local weekly ads via email.
- Thursday, June 20th: Albertsons and Albertsons Market Facebook pages and Twitter accounts will be merged.
