Albertsons Debuts New Steakhouse Choice Beef Brand

BOISE, Idaho - Albertsons here today introduced Steakhouse Choice Beef, a new high-quality brand of USDA Choice Angus Beef, to its supermarkets across the country. The new brand offers customers the same quality grade of beef that's served in steakhouses. Steakhouse Choice beef is naturally aged, hand-carved, and "guaranteed twice" to meet customer satisfaction.

"We are working hard every day to make our customers' lives easier, and when customers told us that they want a choice to purchase the highest-quality beef products, we decided to offer them just that," said Clement Stevens, group v.p., fresh foods merchandising at Albertsons. "Steakhouse Choice is a remarkably tender and juicy cut of beef that's not only USDA Choice Angus Beef, but has also passed the high customer-satisfaction standards established by Albertsons. After the steaks are aged to the peak of flavor and juiciness, our master butchers hand-carve each Steakhouse Choice cut to ensure the best quality steaks every time. Customers preferring a specific cut can always obtain it from the butcher at their neighborhood Albertsons, Jewel-Osco, or Acme store. We believe our customers will appreciate the variety and quality in the new Steakhouse Choice selection."

Albertsons said its Steakhouse Choice Beef is guaranteed for satisfaction on tenderness, juiciness, and flavor. If Steakhouse Choice does not meet a customer's satisfaction, the store will refund the money and replace the cut of beef, guaranteed twice.

Stevens said the Steakhouse Choice introduction marked the latest step in Albertsons' intensive program to provide the best possible value to its customers and further enhance the company's already strong level of customer satisfaction by offering new high-quality products. Recently Albertsons introduced its premium Essensia line of private label foods and an exclusive Blue Ribbon Beef selection. The company has said that it continues to focus on its exclusive brands as a way to offer more choices and greater value to customers.
