Albert's Organics to Open Indianapolis DC

BRIDGEPORT, N.J. -- Organic distributor Albert's Organics here, a subsidiary of United Natural Foods, Inc. said Friday that it is opening a new distribution center in Indianapolis this summer.

The expansion follows the recent opening of Albert's Twin Cities distribution center in Mounds View, Minn.

With the addition of the Indiana distribution center, Albert's estimated it would be able to offer same-day service to stores representing over 85 percent of the organic and natural foods volume in the U.S.

"We are pleased with the dramatic sales growth our customers have achieved in recent years," said Barclay Hope, Albert's Organics' president, in a statement. "We will continue to expand to meet their needs for excellent service."

Albert's now has over 250,000 square feet of warehouse space spread out over seven locations, including Chesterfield, N.H., Bridgeport, N.J., Lakeland, Fla., Mounds View, Minn., Denver, and Vernon, Calif.
