Aisle7 Bows Mobile Wellness Applications
Aisle7, a provider of wellness-driven shopper marketing programs for food and drug retail, has introduced the Aisle7 MOBILE suite, a collection of customizable mobile apps that enable retailers to reach health-conscious shoppers anywhere. Aisle7 MOBILE offers a configurable architecture that allows a grocer to customize its mobile application and choose the functionality, features, and health-and-wellness information that appeal the most to its shoppers.
“Today’s shoppers want information literally in the palm of their hand, and mobile devices do just that,” noted industry consultant Michael Sansolo, former Food Marketing Institute VP. “Having these apps for fact-based, easily used and understandable nutrition information on smart phones will help shoppers make more informed and better decisions about meal choices and purchases. It’s a win-win for supermarkets and their shoppers.”
Two ready-built, customizable offerings permit on-the-go shoppers to plan shopping trips, swap wellness tips with friends, and find healthy products. Both items feature seamless smart phone integration, providing interactive store locaters, e-mail, and social sharing capabilities with networks such as Facebook. The applications are as follows:
--Aisle7 Meal Inspiration offers retailers a turnkey solution of more than 1,000 healthy recipes and healthy-eating tips, enabling shoppers to assemble shopping lists and share information.
--Aisle7 Smart Supplements gives shoppers nutrition and self-care recommendations that can be added to a shopping list for more than 200 health conditions. It also has a medication safety checker function so that consumers know which nutrients to consider or avoid to make their prescriptions work better.
Additionally, Aisle7 can work with retailers to develop unique applications through Aisle7 WELLNESS AppStream technology, an on-demand service that provides easy development access to any of the vendor’s wellness articles, widgets and health tools. The new platform supports a broad assortment of possibilities to reach retail marketing objectives, from recommending specific items based on shopper goals, to suggesting actions that result in healthy eating.
“Aisle7 MOBILE enables retailers to quickly take advantage of two of the fastest-growing retail trends in the industry: mobile and self-care,” explained Jeffrey P. Beyer, CEO of Portland, Ore.-based Aisle7. “With this release, we give our customers the ability to engage their shoppers through all stages of the purchase cycle, from planning at home to finding answers in the aisle, and building shopping lists that drive sales.”
