AG New England Hires New Retail Counselor
PEMBROKE, N.H. -- Associated Grocers of New England said Friday that Trent Beshaw has joined the cooperative's sales team as a retail counselor, with a territory that encompasses stores in the Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut marketing areas.
Beshaw succeeds the recently retired Leo Braz, and reports to AG New England retail accounts manager Paul Greenan.
"Trent has excellent experience with both convenience stores and supermarkets, which will make him a valuable asset for our customers and Associated Grocers of New England," said Greenan.
Beshaw came to AG New England from TBI Corp., where he served for the past three years as the sales supervisor in the Massachusetts territory. Before TBI, he spent four years at Seder Foods as a senior account executive. Beshaw additionally served as a James Ferrera & Sons account executive for three years. Before going into wholesale, he held various retail management positions at both the department and store level.
In other AG New England news, the wholesale coop evoked memories of the Fifties during the recent Old Home Day celebration in its hometown of Pembroke. AG New England's float in the parade was designed to resemble a diner, where guys with slicked-back hair and girls in poodle skirts danced, and s.v.p. and c.f.o. Steve Murphy did duty as a soda jerk.
"The float was complete with a soda fountain, diner booths, and the great music of those days," said Murphy. The float and a fireworks display sponsored by the company marked AG New England's second year of participation in the annual event.
AG New England, owned entirely by independent retail grocers as members of a cooperative and the largest retailer-owned wholesale grocery distribution center in that region, serves independent retail food stores in Maine, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, and the upstate New York/Albany area.
