Yuengling Leaders to Present at SJU Speaker Series
Yuengling Brewery CEO Dick Yuengling and his daughters, Jennifer Yuengling and Wendy Yuengling, will be the featured guests of Saint Joseph’s University’s upcoming Family Business Legacy Speaker Series.
The event, which is part of the Philadelphia-based university’s Haub School of Business and the Initiative for Family Business & Entrepreneurship, will be presented via a discussion and Q&A session on Tuesday, Sept. 27, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Mandeville Hall.
With more than 187 years of successful ownership, Pottsville, Pa.-based D.G. Yuengling & Son Inc. maintains the longest uninterrupted history of management by a single family in the United States. The country’s oldest and largest brewery, Yuengling reflects the heritage of American determination and pride on which it was built.
During the event, titled “Brewed to Perfection,” the Yuenglings will offer tips and insights on family business succession and share their secret to six generations of family business success. Takeaways for attendees will include fundamentals of increasing productivity, strategies for effective management transitions, principles for managing and maintaining healthy family dynamics in business, and women’s leadership issues.
“Through five generations, and now with the sixth generation actively learning the business from the ground floor up, we have remained unique among breweries and distinguished by our strong pride,” said Dick Yuengling.
Currently, Wendy Yuengling is chief administrative officer and Jennifer Yuengling is VP of operations.
“As the next generation taking helm of the brewery, we are dedicated to preserving the qualities that make Yuengling so distinct,” Jennifer Yuengling explained. “Every effort is made to ensure that Yuengling’s popularity and mystique will continue to expand, market by market, far into the future.”
Beer and light fare will be offered from 11 a.m. to 12 noon. The discussion and Q&A session will be held afterwards until 2 p.m. Limited seating is available to the public at $35 per person in advance or $45 at the door. To register, call 610-660-2220 or click here.
