Winn-Dixie's Vendors Want to Consolidate Grocer's Debts
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The committee representing Winn-Dixie Stores, Inc.'s vendors and trade creditors has prepared an order to consolidate the retailer's pre-petition debts, and is seeking court approval to file the motion under seal, The Business Journal of Jacksonville reports.
Documents filed late last week with the U.S. Middle District of Florida bankruptcy court don't outline the consolidation plan that the vendors are seeking.
The committee has scheduled a June 1 hearing date for Judge Jerry Funk to hear the matter.
The consolidation would treat the debts of Winn-Dixie's 23 operating companies as debt for one company.
