Winn-Dixie Launches 'A-Team' Program to Thank Teachers, Reward Students

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Winn-Dixie yesterday kicked off a new program called "Winn-Dixie's A-Team" to honor teachers and reward middle school students for their hard work in academics, good attendance, and overall attitude. Their reward: tickets to home games for the local Jaguars football team.

Winn-Dixie has offered to provide family four-packs of tickets for each of the 10 Jaguars home games this season to students, and two-packs to teachers in Duval, St. Johns, Clay, Flagler, Baker, Nassau, and Putnam Counties.

"Winn-Dixie's A-Team program is a fun way to reward our students and teachers for their hard work, while instilling and promoting characteristics that will help students become successful in both their personal and professional lives," said Peter Lynch, Winn-Dixie's president and c.e.o., in a statement. "Winn-Dixie is committed to giving back to each of the communities we serve. We hope that the A-Team will go a long way toward thanking teachers and offering students another motivation to achieve their goals."

In addition to rewarding students, the program also shows appreciation to middle school teachers. Winn-Dixie will provide 480 teachers per game with two tickets for each of the four evening games this season, rewarding a total of 1,600 teachers.

Winn-Dixie's A-Team allots 960 tickets for each game.
