Winn-Dixie Fields Tentative Bids for 15 Stores

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Publix Super Markets and franchise chain WS Bravo Supermarkets are among the retailers that have placed tentative bids for 15 of the 35 stores that bankrupt grocer Winn-Dixie Stores, Inc. recently put up for sale.

Winn-Dixie, based here, is seeking approval to sell the stores after an open auction to be held May 9, according to a filing with the U.S. Middle District of Florida bankruptcy court cited in the South Florida Business Journal. The retailer has said it will ask for lease termination for stores that don't receive bids.

The bids include:
-- $261,667 per store from Sunrise Properties for three stores in the Miami and Kismet areas;
-- $700,000 for a Davie store and $625,000 for a Sunrise location from Diaz;
-- a $400,000 per store bid from Publix Super Markets for two locations, one in Tampa and one in Vero Beach;
-- and WS Bravo Supermarket's $675,000 bid for a store in Orlando.
