Whole Foods Expands Kosher-for-Passover Sections

Just in time for Passover, Whole Foods Market has added a kosher-for-Passover product selection.

"Good food brings people together and is a huge part of every community," said Errol Schweizer, senior global grocery coordinator for Austin,Texas-based natural and organic supermarket. "Whether they're serving up a secret family recipe, or adding an organic, vegan or gluten-free twist to their Seder plate, shoppers can count on Whole Foods Market to help make this holiday one their guests - and their taste buds - will remember."

Whole Foods Market's kosher selection includes: gourmet snacks; teas; olive oils; poultry; organic whole wheat matzo, matzo meal, matzo farfel and cake meal from Aviv, a 120-year-old traditional matzo producer in Israel;
Avvio Organic Grape Juice, a Whole Foods Market exclusive; Glick's Macaroons in chocolate, chocolate chip, almond and coconut varieties; and gluten-free, organic matzo from Yehuda.

Stores will also carry kosher poultry. Selections include fresh and frozen whole young turkeys and chickens, as well as freshly ground chicken and turkey options, all certified by the Orthodox Union and the K'hal Adath Jeshurun. All of Whole Foods Market's meats are raised on a vegetarian diet without antibiotics or added hormones.

"Our Passover chickens and turkeys meet our strict quality standards and are dual kosher certified to ensure that shoppers are getting the highest-quality, most flavorful bird, processed in accordance with kosher law," said Theo Weening, global meat buyer for Whole Foods Market.

Shoppers can also complete their Seder Plates with Z'roah (lamb shank) bones, offered free of charge.
