Wegmans Sets Table for ‘Best of Menu’ Event

All Wegmans Food Markets locations will host a storewide Best of Menu event on Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 21-22, featuring recipes from the Winter 2017 of Wegmans Menu magazine, most of them fewer than 600 calories per serving.

During the free event, chefs will demo Dan Dan Veggie Noodles, Wegmans’ take on vegetable pasta, and consumers will learn about the grocer’s Feel Your Best Healthy Eating Guidelines, which recommend including a 5-ounce portion of cooked protein with two 4-ounce veggie sides, among other suggestions.

Among the dishes to be sampled at stations throughout the store are Brown Sugar BBQ Pork, Butternut Squash Noodles and Seasoned Green Beans (530 calories); Chickenless Parmesan with Seasoned Green Beans (640 calories); Shrimp with Blush Sauce, Zucchini Noodles and a Sprouted Grain Roll (490 calories); Salsa Verde Braised Pork, Red Chile Braised Beef or Cilantro Lime Chicken Mexican Bowls, paired with a salad or veggie side (under 510 calories); and a King Salmon Tataki Power Meal, with organic super greens and organic red quinoa (450 calories).

Additionally, attendees can enter a drawing to win a gift bag with the main ingredients needed to make the Chickenless Parmesan, Brown Sugar BBQ Pork, or Shrimp with Blush Sauce and Veggies recipes.

Rochester, N.Y.-based Wegmans operates 92 stores in New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Virginia, Maryland, and Massachusetts.
