Walmart Signs On With NutriSavings

Wal-Mart Stores Inc. will help grocery shoppers make healthier purchases and earn cash back from their health plan for doing so, by teaming up with Boston-based wellness company NutriSavings.

The NutriSavings program features an advanced digital platform offering expansive nutritional data to help identify healthy choices. Users can access relevant information, including healthy recipes, articles, and nutrition label analysis of foods. If health plans or employers want to further incentivize healthy behaviors, they can offer plan members cash back on healthier foods through the program.

“NutriSavings believes that learning about which healthy foods to buy leads to better nutrition, which can improve peoples’ lives and help reduce health care costs,” said Gerard Bridi, the company’s CEO. “We’re proud to work with a company whose mission statement aligns with our desire to improve the health and wellbeing of employees and their families across the country.”

NutriSavings is available to employees through their employer’s eligible health plan provider, as an opt‐in benefit. Starting June15, program members can register for a NutriSavings rewards card that can be used at more than 4,000 Walmart stores nationwide. NutriSavings card holders can choose special food offers online or via NutriSavings’ mobile app, and earn cash-back savings on each shopping trip.

Other participating retailers in the program include Shaw’s, Stop & Shop, and Wegmans.
