Walmart Adopts Chase Pay

Wal-Mart Stores Inc. is now able to accept payment via Chase Pay for purchases made through its website, on its mobile app or in stores via the Walmart Pay mobile app. Chase Pay allows customers to use the digital payment solution to purchase conveniently and securely in-store and online while earning rewards and receiving offers.

Walmart expanded its relationship with Chicago-based consumer and commercial banker Chase last month, saying Chase Visa card transactions at 5,000-plus Walmart and Sam's Club locations in the United States, as well as through Sam's Club's e-commerce program, will process through ChaseNet, the bank's closed-loop network. Both ChaseNet and Chase Pay are scheduled to go live with Walmart in 2017.

Created for Chase Visa credit and debit cards, Chase Pay protects users through token technology, which uses one-time complex codes to process transactions and keep the card information secure.

Bentonville, Ark.-based Walmart operates 11,539 stores under 63 banners in 28 countries, as well as e-commerce websites in 11 countries, and employs approximately 2.3 million associates worldwide.
