USDA Seeks Nominations for Food Safety Award
Washington, D.C. - The Food Safety and Inspection Service arm of the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture is seeking nominations for the 2003 Howard E. Bauman Award for Food Safety.
The award recognizes an individual or individuals who have shown longstanding commitment, leadership and service to improving food safety and public health.
The award was first presented posthumously in 2002 to Howard E. Bauman, widely recognized as the father of HACCP.
Any person or organization may nominate someone for the award who has positively affected food safety and public health. The award will be presented this fall.
Nominees must be U.S. citizens and only one nomination per person or organization will be considered.
