Upromise Introduces 1st National Paperless Coupon Program

Upromise's eCoupons, the first nationwide paperless coupon program, has brought together leading consumer brands such as Aquafina FlavorSplash, Charmin, Huggies, and Spray 'n Wash and 21,000 grocery and drug retailers across the United States, including A&P, Bashas', CVS, Giant Eagle, Kroger, and Safeway, to help consumers save money for college.

With up to $25 in value each month, eCoupons provide another way for Upromise members to augment the $450 million dollars they've received in college savings rewards since the program began in 2001.

eCoupons will be available on a monthly basis, and can be used by clicking on participating products at www.Upromise.com/eCoupons. Each eCoupon is then automatically linked to a member's registered grocery or drug store cards, and can be redeemed for college savings in the member's Upromise account upon purchase of those items in-store.

A recent ICOM Information & Communications survey found that 67 percent of those polled said they are much more likely to use coupons during a recession, and 58 percent of respondents saw their coupon use going up if they could download a coupon from the Internet and have it automatically connected to an electronically swiped frequent shopper card. Of that 58 percent, 35 percent said they are much more likely to use a paperless coupon.

Newton, Mass.-based Upromise is the largest private source of college funding contributions in the United States, with over 9 million members and $450 million in member rewards.
