Unified Western Grocers Selects ems ScanLink to Fuel Vendorlink Initiative
DEERFIELD, Ill. - Retailer-owned wholesale grocery cooperative Unified Western Grocers Inc. has signed a three-year service agreement with efficient market services, based in Deerfield, Ill., to license ems' ScanLink service for use throughout its network of independent retailers.
The ScanLink service will collect, validate and process point-of-sale (POS) data from UWG's retailers, which will be instrumental in powering UWG's Vendorlink nitiative. Vendorlink provides CPG vendors and brokers with a secure, single point of contact to reach, communicate and negotiate with its member retailers.
"ScanLink will be key in fueling our company's Vendorlink system, which will help our retail customers reduce their operating costs, improve supply chain management and streamline promotions - resulting in increased ROI," said Gary Herman, VP and CIO for UWG.
