Unified Names Gerry Garcia VP/Chief Audit Exec

Unified Grocers has named Gerry Garcia its VP, chief audit executive. Garcia will provide strategic leadership to internal controls over financial reporting processes and SOX reporting compliance, as well as elevate risk assessment and enhance other key operational processes and procedures.

He was previously VP, internal audit for Fairfax, Va.-based ICF International and is considered a subject-matter expert in internal controls, financial reporting, SOX and Enterprise Risk Management across multiple industries. Garcia holds an MBA from the University of Denver and is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Information Systems Auditor and a Certified Fraud Examiner.

Commerce, Calif.-based Unified is the largest retailer-owned wholesale grocery cooperative in the western United States.
