Unified Grocers Launches Recall InfoLink

Retailer-owned cooperative Unified Grocers is adopting recall process management technology from Recall InfoLink.

Commerce, Calif.-based Unified Grocers joins other members of Retailer Owned Food Distributors & Associates (ROFDA) – including Associated Grocers of Florida, Affiliated Foods of Amarillo, Associated Grocers-Baton Rouge, Olean Wholesale Grocers, Associated Grocers of Florida and Associated Grocers of the South – in successfully implementing Recall InfoLink solutions.

“Recall InfoLink's technology lets us speed up and simplify the process of getting recalled products out of the supply chain to protect customers,” said Mark Johnson, VP of procurement for Unified Grocers.

Recall InfoLink provides a patented, web-based product recall management platform that protects brand image, reduces liability and brings value to all businesses involved in processing recalls. It improves efficiency by providing standardized messages, automated communications, inventory tracking and reports for compliance efforts.

“The impact our solution has for companies like Unified Grocers is immediate and important to all aspects of their go-to-market strategy," explained Roger Hancock, president and founder of Boise-based Recall InfoLink. "By investing in a system that significantly reduces the potential for food safety issues, they are building trust with their shoppers that carries over to increased sales at the checkout stand.”

Unified Grocers, a wholesale grocery distributor that supplies more than 2,900 independent retailers throughout the western U.S., generated approximately $3.9 billion in sales during fiscal 2014.
