Tops Revives, Expands ‘Christmas Bonus’

11/21/2017

Tops Markets LLC has brought back its Christmas Bonus program, which helps shoppers save by giving them an extra 20 percent discount on holiday gift cards when they buy groceries.

This year, the newly expanded program enables shoppers to save $10 on participating $50 gift cards to more than 26 retailers, including Lowe’s, Cabela’s, Toys R Us, Old Navy, JC Penney and GameStop, as well as 2017 additions Bed, Bath & Beyond; Regal Cinemas; Bass Pro Shops; Outback Steakhouse; Buffalo Wild Wings; Build a Bear Workshop; and Bath & Body Works. There’s no limit on how many discounted cards a customer can buy.

“Tops Christmas Bonus was created as a thank-you and to help our shoppers stretch their budget while spreading holiday cheer,” noted Tops SVP of Marketing Diane Colgan. “Whether you are planning on Black Friday or Cyber Monday shopping for gifts, or a do-it- yourself project at home, taking advantage of Tops Christmas Bonus can save you both time and money.”

Shoppers using their Tops BonusPlus card will automatically earn one gift point for every grocery purchase of $50 or higher at Tops. They can use one gift point at checkout to purchase a $50 gift card for just $40 to participating stores and restaurants. Gift points can be redeemed at any Tops store, with no limit as to how many times customers can save during the promotion, which runs until Dec. 24. There is, however, a limit of one $10 discount per $50 gift card, and the points must be redeemed by Dec. 31.

A complete list of participating stores and restaurants is available on Tops’ website, as well as at the chain's stores.

Williamsville, N.Y.-based Tops operates 171 supermarkets, with five additional locations run by franchisees under the Tops banner. The grocer employs more than 15,000 associates in New York, northern Pennsylvania, western Vermont and north central Massachusetts.
