Tops to Open 3 Renovated Stores

Tops Markets LLC is opening of three newly renovated stores in the Hudson Valley the week of Nov. 13, during which each location will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Located in New Paltz, Rhinebeck and Wappingers Falls, the stores, previously among four Stop & Shop and two Hannaford stores that Tops acquired as a result of the Ahold-Delhaize merger, have received interior and exterior upgrades, which will both enhance their aesthetic appearance and allow for a wider selection of products, greater savings and increased convenience. New landscaping and painting give their exteriors a fresh appearance, while new refrigeration and display cases, as well as new décor, tiling and additional seating in the café area, provide a refreshed interior.

Tops will continue to offer customers the range of choices to which they're accustomed, as well as an expansion from what was previously offered, including 20 varieties of Ace artisan breads, all of which are Non-GMO Project Verified, with organic options, and fresh-baked products such as rolls, breads, doughnuts, pastries and an expanded variety of cakes and desserts for all occasions. More than 1,800 gluten-free items, including baking mixes from Bob's Red Mill, Cucina Amore pasta sauce and Goodie Girl cookies, will be available.

“Upon coming into the market, we listened to and adjusted to our customer’s needs. We are pleased to be able to offer a wide array of over 3,000 organic items as well as bring in new offerings from companies like Earthbound Farm,” said Jeff Cady, director of produce/floral for Tops. “We are also providing an enhanced variety of convenience items, including fresh-cut fruits and vegetables and Fresh Express Salads.”

Additionally, Tops has maintained the relationships it had with local grocers prior to the acquisition while aligning with new grocers in the region.

Also, in other Tops fresh departments, certified butchers cut and hand-pack 100 percent USDA Choice beef locally raised from traditional small-family farmers. The wide selection and fine cuts of beef, pork, poultry and exotic meats include options that are free from hormones, antibiotics and animal byproducts from brands such as Spring Crossing, Prairie Grove, Murray’s, Open Prairie and Bartel’s.
