Tops Bows Orchard Fresh Banner

Tops Friendly Markets celebrated the grand opening of its first specialty food market, Orchard Fresh, on April 14.

Located in Orchard Park, N.Y., the 30,000-square-foot specialty food store combines locally and globally sourced specialty and gourmet foods with a focus on natural and organic.

"There is both tremendous passion and a real opportunity within our community for authentic, specialty gourmet-inspired food that doesn't necessarily fit within a traditional grocery store setting," said Frank Curci, president and CEO of Williamsville, N.Y.-based Tops Markets. "The Orchard Fresh concept is designed to suit that specific need, and we think the Western New York community is going to really enjoy the experience.”

At the center of the store, the Orchard Fresh Kitchen and Delicatessen features gourmet prepared food selections, including fully prepared meals, soups, made-to-order salads, sandwiches and wood-fire pizza, with healthy alternatives for special diets. Boar's Head deli meats and more than 300 local and imported specialty cheeses are part of the store’s specialty offerings.

"We're confident that Western New Yorkers will enjoy the tastes, aromas, textures and sensations that can only be found at Orchard Fresh," explains Kevin Donovan, director of Orchard Fresh. Tops Friendly Markets operates 155 full-service supermarkets – 150 company-owned and five franchise locations – under the Tops, Grand Union and Bryant's banners.
