Top Women in Grocery Event to Feature Best-selling Author

Robin Gerber, powerful speaker and author of the best-selling book, "Leadership the Eleanor Roosevelt Way," will serve as the keynote speaker of the daytime leadership development program at this year's Top Women in Grocery event, set to take place November 10, 2016, at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress in Orlando, Fla.

During her after-breakfast address, Gerber will discuss the valuable leadership lessons of Eleanor Roosevelt, whose life journey offers an inspiring road map to heroic living and an unparalleled model for personal achievement. During her keynote, which will be based on her best-selling book, Gerber's talk will reference fascinating stories from Eleanor Roosevelt’s life to deliver unforgettable lessons on leadership and life.

A powerful speaker, author and historian, Gerber has appeared on History Channel and Biography Channel programs, as well as The PBS Newshour and CBS and FOX affiliates. She has also written articles for USA Today, The Washington Post, The Philadelphia Inquirer and numerous other newspapers and magazines.

Serving as a senior faculty member of the Institute for Management Studies, where she teaches her popular course, “Authentic Leadership," Gerber's most recent book is the first biography of the founder of "Mattel, Ruth Handler: Barbie and Ruth: The Story of the World’s Most Famous Doll and the Woman Who Created Her."

Gerber is also the author of "Katharine Graham: The Leadership Journey of an American Icon," with a foreword by Jim Collins, author of Good to Great, which explores the life of the legendary publisher of The Washington Post.

Gerber has provided numerous inspirational keynote addresses for some of the most admired companies in the world, including Bank of America, IBM, Marriott, Legg Mason, JP Morgan/Chase, AARP, The Culinary Institute, Sun Trust, Ameriprise, Accenture, among others, as well as for many universities, colleges, girls’ schools, nonprofits and government agencies.

Prior to becoming an author and speaker, Gerber practiced law in Washington, D.C., and worked on Capitol Hill. She has studied and written about leadership development since 1975.
