Tesco to Sell Cherokee Clothing Line
LONDON - U.K. supermarket Tesco PLC has signed up U.S. fashion label Cherokee Inc. to sell its casual clothing range through Tesco stores, in a bid to take on high street giants Next PLC and Gap Inc., Dow Jones news service reports.
The ranges have been specially designed for the U.K. market and will go into over 300 Tesco stores in the autumn.
Tesco chief executive of clothing John Hoerner said Cherokee's launch in the U.K. "signals a massive gear change in the U.K. fashion market," according to Dow Jones.
