Supervalu Appoints Mary Winston to Board

Mary Winston, a former executive for Family Dollar Stores and Giant Eagle, will join Supervalu’s board of directors, effective April 27. The Eden Prairie, Minn.-based wholesaler now has 12 sitting board members.

In addition to her retail experience, Winston has more than 10 years of experience serving on public company boards and audit committees, including Dover Corp. and Domtar Corp.

“I’m very pleased that Mary has accepted our offer to join the Supervalu board of directors,” said Gerald Storch, non-executive chairman of Supervalu. “Her experience in senior level financial positions and on executive management teams, along with her many years of service on public company boards, makes her a highly-qualified addition who will help lead our organization into the future.”
