Super Saver Unveils Final Five Flavors in Smokehouse Challenge

Super Saver has unveiled the five sausage flavors that will be competing for top honors in this year's Smokehouse Challenge.

The flavors are Jackie’s Steak, submitted by Jackie Wester, Omaha, Neb.; Jane’s Chipotle Peach, submitted by Jane Brannen, Omaha; Jessica’s Fennel Mint, submitted by Jessica Van Riper, East Rutherford, N.J.; Gail’s Pumpkin Alfredo, submitted by Gail Marino, Lincoln, Neb.; and Tammy’s Maple Bacon Blueberry, submitted by Tammy Fleming, Grand Island, Neb. The final five flavors were chosen from a pool of 100 sausage varieties.

Customers of the Lincoln, Neb.-based stores will vote by purchasing their favorite flavor through the month of October. Four in-store tastings also will be held for customers to try free samples. The sausage with the most sales will be declared the winner and will continue to be sold in stores in Nebraska and Iowa for a limited time. The winning sausage maker will also receive a $100 Super Saver gift card. All five finalist receive a $50 Super Saver gift card.
