SunTrust Opens Branches in Sam's Clubs
BENTONVILLE, Ark. -- Under a pilot program Atlanta-based SunTrust Banks, Inc. has opened two full-service branches geared toward small-business owners in leased space inside Sam's Club locations. Both branches feature meeting space and extended hours of operation.
The first branch opened April 24 in Chesapeake, Va., while the second debuted yesterday in Bradenton, Fla.
"This pilot program provides us with the unique opportunity to test an in-store concept specifically targeting small-business owners -- a key customer base for SunTrust and the primary shoppers at Sam's Club," said C. Gene Kirby, SunTrust corporate e.v.p. and retail banking executive, in a statement. "Consistent with our deposit growth strategies, these branches complement our retail banking network and -- like our other in-store locations -- raise the visibility of the SunTrust brand with prospective clients who may have never been to a traditional SunTrust branch."
Sam's Club, a members-only warehouse club store, is a division of Wal-Mart Stores, Inc.
