The Subject Is Roses for Price Chopper's Central Market Florist
SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -- Price Chopper's Central Market Florist department, recently featured on ESPN Radio's "Marriage Madness with Mike and Mike: The Ultimate Sports Wedding," will roll out its first annual Rose Festival promotion. Featuring roses in 45 colors, the promotion, which coincides with Administrative Professionals Day, April 26, celebrates the world's most purchased flower.
Although traditional red roses are still big, the wide variety of colors currently available has led shoppers to buy them year-round, accounting for more than 50 percent of total rose category sales, according to Price Chopper. In the promotion the retailer, which employs over 80 professional floral designers chainwide, will feature such bargains as a 12 stem Rose Bunch for $6.99, a Dozen Rose Bouquet for $12.99, and a Dozen Rose & Alstromeria Bouquet for $17.99).
The family-owned Golub Corp. owns and operates more than 100 Price Chopper grocery stores in New York, Vermont, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire. The corporation's 23,000 associates collectively own 55 percent of the company's privately held stock.
