In-Store Clinic Operators Form Trade Group
Philadelphia, PA - The growth of in-store clinics at supermarkets has prompted the launch of a new trade association to help sustain the concept's momentum, and provide resources and services for clinic operators.
Called the Convenient Care Association (CCA), the organization represents small healthcare facilities and convenient care clinics, located in high-traffic retail outlets with accessible pharmacy services. Primarily staffed by nurse practitioners and physicians assistants, these clinics provide routine, non-emergency services to walk-in patients at affordable prices.

"The convenient care industry has revolutionized the way patients access health care," said Tine Hansen-Turton, executive director, CCA. "That kind of impact is energizing, and it brings a lot of responsibility with it."
Organizers said the Convenient Care Association is committed to ongoing development of uniform protocols which enhance and assist clinics' health care providers; implementing medical record sharing procedures with physicians and other health care providers; and offering recommendations, based on established best practices, for patient follow-up care.
"We established the CCA so that, as our industry pushes towards greater success and paves the way for growth, we will share best practices to serve the patient, unify our voices, and partner with the existing medical community," said Web Golinkin, CCA treasurer.
