Stop & Shop to Distribute Black History Month Brochures
QUINCY, Mass. -- In conjunction with Black History Month, which officially begins tomorrow, Ahold's Stop & Shop division here will distribute for free a "Profiles in Excellence" brochure highlighting significant accomplishments and milestones achieved by African Americans.
The chain said it would distribute 100,000 brochures in its 348 stores in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, New Jersey, and New York.
Prominent African Americans featured in Profiles in Excellence include U.S. Senator Barack Obama, historian Arthur Schomburg, and acclaimed storyteller J. California Cooper.
