Stewart to Lead RILA's Center for Retail Compliance
Ajani Stewart has joined the Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA) to lead and develop the trade group's new Center for Retail Compliance (CRC), a web-based resource for retailers and stakeholders to access solutions and information for maintaining and achieving environmental compliance.
Stewart was formerly environmental coordinator for the City of Miami's Office of Sustainable Initiatives, where he helped develop and lead the city’s sustainability and environmental efforts.
“Ajani possesses significant experience with local, state and federal environmental regulatory frameworks,” said Deborah White, executive VP and general counsel at RILA. “His previous work in environmental consulting and with state and federal regulatory programs, make him a great asset to RILA’s member companies and a talented director of the Center for Retail Compliance.”
Prior to his work with the City of Miami, Ajani worked as a project manager in environmental consulting for several years with two local South Florida firms. Previous to this, he worked for the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, where he performed compliance and enforcement activities pursuant to various state and federal regulatory programs.
