Stater Brothers Announces New Appointments

COLTON, Calif. - West Coast retailer Stater Bros. Markets announced on Monday two new appointments: Jim Lee was named group senior vice president - retail, and Dennis McIntyre was promoted to group senior vice president - marketing. Both are newly created positions.

As group senior vice president - retail, Lee is responsible for overseeing the overall operations of the company's 156 supermarkets. Lee reports to Don Baker, executive vice president and COO.

Lee is a 33-year veteran of the supermarket industry. He started his career as a courtesy clerk at Ralphs Grocery Company and continually advanced in store level management, becoming a corporate officer, and eventually being named group vice president at Ralphs Grocery Company.

"We are extremely fortunate to have Jim join the Stater Bros. 'family' of employees," said Jack H. Brown, chairman of the board, president and CEO. "His background in store operations will be valuable to the future growth of the company."

McIntyre is a 24-year member of Stater Bros. and has worked his way through the ranks from courtesy clerk to assistant manager to buyer/merchandiser to vice president of marketing, and most recently senior vice president of marketing.

Reporting directly to McIntyre are the company's grocery, meat, produce, bakery, and service deli divisions in addition to the marketing and merchandising departments. He reports to Don Baker, executive vice president and COO.

"Dennis has made many valuable contributions to our company and has proven to be a very effective and competent member of our senior management team as well as a leader of our marketing team," Brown said.
