Stater Bros. Plans Expansion to Ventura County, Calif.

Stater Bros. Market will expand to California's Ventura County next year with the opening of a supermarket in Simi Valley, in the location of a former Haggen store.

Located at 660 E. Los Angeles Ave., the new store will begin construction in a few months and is scheduled to open in 2016.

Pete Van Helden, Stater Bros. president/COO, said that he'd received an "influx of requests" from Simi Valley residents urging the company to open a store within their city limits.

"We’re excited for the opportunity to establish roots in a new county and acquaint Simi Valley shoppers with Stater Bros.’ well-known service and low prices,” Van Helden said.

The company also plans to open two additional stores in 2016 -- one in the Orange County community of Tustin, and one in Menifee in Riverside County.

San Bernardino, Calif.-based Stare Bros. Markets operates 168 supermarkets in California.
