Stater Bros. Contributes $156K to Children's Fund of San Bernardino County
COLTON, Calif. -- Regional independent Stater Bros. Friday presented a check for $156,210.24 to the Children's Fund of San Bernardino County to assist abused and at-risk children.
Between March 29 and April 11 Stater Bros., its customers, and its employees helped to raise funds by purchasing PepsiCo products with the "Smart Spot" symbol. The "Smart Spot" symbol designates PepsiCo products that promote better health. All 162 Stater Bros. stores participated in this promotion, which raised $100,000 for the Children's Fund of San Bernardino County.
The retailer also raised funds for the charity during the 2nd Annual Stater Bros. Fontana Racefest at California Speedway in Fontana, Calif. on Feb. 23. This fundraising effort, which included an opportunity to personally meet NASCAR's top drivers, was made possible through a partnership among Stater Bros., K-FROG Radio, Pepsi Cola, Budweiser, and Miller Beer. A total of $56,210.24 was raised at this event.
"Stater Bros. has a long history of giving back to our friends and neighbors in the communities we are privileged to serve," said Stater Bros. chairman and c.e.o. Jack H. Brown, who is also the founding chairman of Children's Fund of San Bernardino County, in a statement. "We work closely with our supplier friends to develop fundraising efforts which benefit many nonprofit organizations, and we were especially pleased to develop these campaigns, which will benefit Children's Fund of San Bernardino County and make a difference in the lives of so many children."
