Stater Bros.' '06 Sales Hit $3.5 Billion

COLTON, Calif. - Stater Bros. Holdings Inc. here said yesterday it had scored a 4 percent increase in sales for the fiscal year ended September 24, compared with the previous year, and a 1.5 percent improvement in same-store stores for the period.

Sales for fiscal 2006 were $3.5 billion, up 4 percent from last year's $3.4 billion. Like store sales for fiscal 2006 increased 1.5 percent compared to fiscal 2005.

For the fourth quarter, sales were $891.4 million, the chain said, up 4.9 percent from the year ago period. Same store sales were up 2.9 in the latest quarter, Stater Bros. said.
