Sprouts Farmers Market to Anchor New Shopping Development in Texas

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Sprouts Farmers Market, a retailer that specializes in fresh local produce, will open its fourth Texas unit next summer, the Dallas Morning News reports.

The store will be located in a new shopping center in Southlake, a community that's already populated by high-end retail stores, and will soon include a Central Market from H.E. Butt Grocery Co.

Target had scoped out the Southlake site in hopes of building a SuperTarget there, according to the report, but widespread community opposition forced it to build its store nearby, in North Richland Hills.

The new Southlake development will replace an old strip shopping center and service station, according to the report. Other tenants will include a Chase Bank branch, a restaurant, and small office buildings.

The development is expected to be completed by next summer.

Sprouts' other Texas locations are in Dallas, Plano, and Flower Mound. In addition to its Texas units, Sprouts operates 12 stores in Arizona and two stores in California.
