SimonDelivers' School Charity Program to Deliver Sales, Too

MINNEAPOLIS -- Online grocer SimonDelivers.com, Inc., based here, today teamed up with the Heroes & Dreams Foundation, a national cause media producer based in Bloomington, Minn., to launch a summer program to raise money for local schools, and at the same time drum up new business.

The pure play Web-based retailer serves the greater metropolitan area of Minneapolis and St. Paul, as well as surrounding cities. The new Everyday Hero program that it has created in partnership with the Heroes & Dreams Foundation will generate money to support more than 1,100 metropolitan schools in its markets.

"SimonDelivers has consistently grown over the last six years, while maintaining a local focus across the Twin Cities," said the online merchant's c.e.o., Christopher Brown. "This program is one effort that allows us to give back to the community in a very tangible way."

New customers that place 10 orders during the summer period of June 1 through September 10 will earn $75 from SimonDelivers for a school of their choice. All new customers, as well as any past customer who has not placed an order in the last year, are eligible to participate. Qualified shoppers can sign up for the program at the Web site, simondelivers.com, by registering or logging into the system as a user, and then selecting a city and school of their choice. The retailer will send weekly updates tracking each customer's orders towards the goal of 10 orders by September 10.

"SimonDelivers again shows what a great corporate citizen they are with the Everyday Hero program," said St. Paul Mayor Randy Kelly of the program. "By allowing customers to choose a school in the metro, SimonDelivers will deepen their bond with the Twin Cities by contributing thousands of dollars to Minnesota schools for much needed additional educational opportunities."

"SimonDelivers is doing what more companies ought to be doing -- using their promotion dollars to build more meaningful relationships between their brands and their customers," said Terry Hitchcock, executive director of the Heroes & Dreams Foundation. "The program is putting significant amounts of money right into the classroom."
