Shop 'n Save Revamps Web Site With Interactive Promos

Supervalu's Shop 'n Save yesterday launched an upgraded Web site with the addition of, a custom microsite designed to give shoppers access to sales and promotions from the comfort of their homes.

"We hope to save consumers time and money through," said Bill Lipsky, director of merchandising for Supervalu, which serves the independent Shop 'n Save retailers. "The Web site is designed to deliver value in a way that fits into customers busy lifestyles."

To set up an account, consumers log on to and opt-in to receive a bi-weekly e-mail newsletter and special online deals. They can personalize the site by choosing the features they want and products that best meet their needs. Special offers are sent to customers by email, allowing them to print coupons or vouchers and redeem them at stores.

During the rollout, visitors to Shop 'n Save stores will receive unique codes that can be entered on the Web site for chances to win sweepstakes prizes including store gift certificates, and the Grand Prize, a vacation for four to Orlando. 

Shop 'n Save consists of more than 70 independently owned and operated supermarkets in western Pennsylvania, eastern Ohio, and West Virginia.
